Basketball Bet

Posted by Damon Fox @ 12:00 AM, Thursday Feb 5th, 2009

Basketball is a sport that is huge worldwide but not as much as it is in the Unites States of America where it always has, and probably always be one of, if not the biggest sport. It contests two teams of 5 players each with the basic aim being to score more points than the opposition.

PLAY NOW

To score points you pass the team from player to player until you feel have an opportunity o score points, to do this the ball is thrown through the air and aimed at a hanging basket which stands at an incredible 10ft high. Other than passing the ball to your players you can also keep the ball yourself but the ball must be dribbled down the court by bouncing it as you run, you are NOT allowed to keep hold of the ball as you run with it. Basketball is what is known as a non-contact sport, meaning physical contact is not allowed to win the ball off the opposing team.

In front of each basket is a D shape, if the ball is thrown into the hoop from inside this D then your team scored 2 points but if it thrown from outside the D your team gets an impressive 3 points, this is because it is notoriously harder to score a “3 pointer”. The biggest league in the world is the NBA which is the American league and the games are split into four quarters of 12 minutes. The biggest name to ever play the sport is Michael ‘Air’ Jordan who signed a ridiculously huge deal with sports giants Nike.

Bestus.com Review

Posted by Damon Fox @ 12:00 AM, Tuesday Feb 3rd, 2009

www.betus.com, a site I wasn’t too familiar with but on first impressions it seems like a great site. It is a betting website which is for the biggest US sports. When I fist looked at the site my attention was grabbed with the big advert for Super Sunday and it was promoting that they actually have thousands of different bets available, what I liked were the examples that were used for the kind of bets that you can play, the length of the national anthem, how many songs will be played by the boss, number if dropped passes etc, I have never seen a website that offers these sorts of bets.

BET NOW

Also available on the site was sports book betting, poker, casino betting, a racebook, lockeroom, and then finally a girls section. At the top of the homepage are two things that would attract any potential new members, one being a stereotypical sports fan with a drinking helmet on his head and two handfuls of money, the other being a picture of two women in nothing but bikinis with the opportunity to get a free swimsuit calendar and DVD. What more could a potential member ask for? There are a few different ways to sign up, at the top of the homepage was a phone number to call if you need to speak to somebody direct, or you can sign up by hitting the big green “join now” button. They also have an easily accessibly FAQ section to put anybody at ease who might be a bit wary of signing up.

I want to start by saying with the name www.bet.com you would probably think were on your way to visiting another of the hundreds of betting websites currently on the internet wouldn’t you, but how wrong could you be and how far from betting could you get with this site and whoever named the site must have been surely thinking about different things at the time also.

BET NOW

But for fans of entertainment and show business then this is every fans dream with breaking news on all the top stars around the globe whether it be from the World of Hip Hop with hundreds of videos ready to b watched at the click of a mouse or visiting the most popular watched videos covering hundreds of subjects from around the world.

They have regular updated tables of the most watched shows for you to have a look at with predictions to who might not do well in 2009 entertainment wise and who might not do well as well. Bet.com also predicts which bad boys of US hip hop are due to fall out this year as every year most hip hop stars in the US seem to fall out over nothing but I am still convinced this is put on to help album sales much like the US seemed to do with Mike Tyson to help him sell tickets and have him fall out with every boxer he is due to fight with his tussle with Lennox Lewis being the main reasoning to my point only for Mike himself to come out and say it was all put on to help sell tickets which it did both at ringside and Worldwide on Sky TV.

www.bet.com also have a games function which after a few hours watching shows might make you wind down before hitting your bed.

Betus Review

Posted by Damon Fox @ 12:00 AM, Friday Dec 26th, 2008

Bet us.com have thought long and hard about whom their punters are and what they like and have come to an interesting conclusion.

For a sight aimed at solely American sports and those who like to bet on US sports they have also decided that those punters also like very attractive young ladies not wearing much and you know what? They’re probably right!

BET NOW

Within the site there is a section entitled ‘Girls’ which is full of galleries of there www.betus.com ‘playmates’ but the site is much more than that.

The tone seems exactly right for your average American Sports fan it’s fun full of ststas and has insights into every sport a Yank could want.

Lets start with ‘serious’ content. The markets are vast and varied concentrating on North America’s finest. These range on game by game markets from point spreads to outrights as well as ante-post markets. The horse racing section is made separate from the sports which is a nice touch so if you are interesting in just the equines then you know exactly where to go without endless searching. They also offer regular podcasts with expert previews into the big events of the day, which gives ‘added value’

The graphics and images are fun, topical and appealing while although a bit of mischief on their part the girls section does tap into other areas of revenue with the chance to buy calendars and DVD’s of your favourite ‘Bet Babes’.

Anyone serious about US Sports betting should have an account with these guys.

Bet.com – Milwaukee Bucks

Posted by Damon Fox @ 12:00 AM, Wednesday Dec 24th, 2008

www.bet.com - Andrew Bogut continues to impress as with NBA side the Milwaukee Bucks as the posted yet another impressive victory over the Miami Heat in Milwaukee last night.

Earlier this year, Bogut became the highest paid Australian sportsmen of all time when the Milwaukee Bucks signed a four year deal reportedly worth somewhere in the vicinity of $90 million.

BET NOW

He has also recently turned his hand to philanthropy, donating thrity thousand dollars out of his own pocket to prop up ailing Australian club the Sydney Spirit.

Following recent knee surgery, Bogut was back to his sensational best against the Heat, scoring a very handy 20 points as well as snatching 11 rebounds.

The massive Australian almost let his career take a different turn when he was approached by the AFL very early on his career with offers from a few interested clubs.

According to his father, Bogut, who was playing amateur basketball at the time for no pay, remained with basketball because money was not a motivating factor.

This was evident when he turned out in the gold colours of the Boomers in his first Olympics at Beijing earlier in the year.

The win by the Milwaukee Bucks over the Miami Heat brings their current record to 11 and 15 – keeping their albeit slim chances of making the play-offs alive.

Bogut will need to remain at the top of his game if he is to realise his ultimate dream of taking part in the NBA play offs against the best basketballers in the world.

Bet.com – Manager Merry Go Around

Posted by Damon Fox @ 12:00 AM, Tuesday Dec 9th, 2008

www.bet.com – Roy Keane became the 4th Premiership manager this season to leave their club although this time he resigned rather than Alan Curbishley being sacked at West Ham, Ramos at Spurs and Redknapp leaving Portsmouth for Spurs. The early favourite for the new job at the North East club has seen former Newcastle and Bolton manager Sam Allardyce being installed as the early favourite after his admission at the Weekend that he was ready to return to management after recharging his batteries after a long break from the game.

BET NOW

With so much money on offer nowadays for Premiership clubs it seems the pressure involved managing a top club today in England gets worse and worse with Chairman ready to give managers the chop at the earliest opportunity if they are not performing. Ten too fifth teen years ago managers were given at least a season to get things right on the pitch unlike today where in some cases they are not even being given 3 months to get things right which I think is damaging the game of Football.

Old stalwarts like Manchester United’s manager and Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger must be so glad that they started out at their clubs years ago because if they had come in today they would never be allowed to run their clubs for the amount of time they have done.
The Sunderland job already has books open on at the big British bookmakers (Ladbrokes, William hill’s and Corals) so if you do fancy anybody then be sure to have a stake at any of the sites mentioned but as my personal choice Sam Allardyce is a very short priced favourite I will have a flutter on something else this Weekend.

Basketball Bet – Washington Wizards

Posted by Damon Fox @ 12:00 AM, Tuesday Dec 2nd, 2008

After suffering one of the worst losing records in the franchise history and slipping to as big as 50/1 just to win their division the Washington Wizards not only look like a beaten team in the NBA but are now without a leader.

To Bet on Basketball CLICK HERE

The club, who have a record of one and 10, have parted company with coach Eddie Jordan with not even a month played in the new season.

The writing was on the wall for Jordan when he watched his under performing and quite frankly poor looking side slump t the New York Knicks. In itself that would not normally be a particularly bad result for a team low on confidence but the side from ‘the big apple’ only had seven players available after a big day for them trading the previous Friday and still racked up 122 points on the wizards.

This exasperated a situation, which has seen Washington become bottom in every league and stats table. They are ranked 20th or worst in every key area including falling to 27th in points allowed and 24th in points scored and it doesn’t take a mathematical genius to work out that’s bad.

Some may feel sorry for the departing coach who, to a large extent, was a victim of circumstance. Jordan had to do without his superstar starting centre and, top two guys off the bench from last term and although coaches should be able to adapt that was a big handicap to start from.

The Wizards can now be backed at 150/1 to win the NBA title but on the evidence so far don’t waste your money.

betus – NBA Season

Posted by Damon Fox @ 12:00 AM, Thursday Nov 27th, 2008

betus.com - After a superb 11-one start to the new NBA season the LA Lakers are now just 5/2 to climb back to the top of basketball’s elite.

On current form the Californian club have many basketball pundits excited that they can become only the second team in the leagues history to reach 70 wins in a season. That feat was last achieved by the all-conquering Chicago Bulls of the 1995-96 season.

To Bet on Basketball CLICK HERE

LA are well ahead of the pace set my Michael Jordan and co that season and have every chance of reaching that mark. They should at least give their fans hope of creating history in the run up to Christmas and stay on course for the record as they face only seven teams in their next 16 games with record of 50% or better.

The Lakers are just 1/14 to take their division after such a fantastic start and hold a clear lead in the race and has lead Randy Brown, assistant coach at the Sacramento Kings, and member of that Bull team to describe them as ‘A little better than we were’. That’s quite a compliment from a man who played with the best.

By comparison the Lakers city rivals the Clippers have had a dreadful start to the season and will have to contend with life in the shadow of their more illustrious neighbours at least for another season.

Also short in the outright betting are the defending champions the Boston Celtics. They have also made a good start to their title defence and lead the Eastern Conference.

Premiership highlights

Posted by Damon Fox @ 12:00 AM, Monday Oct 20th, 2008

This weekend was goals galore for the top teams in the Premiership with all the big 4 winning their games but Chelsea and Manchester United really hit top form to send out a message to all their rivals that they mean business.

To Bet on Basketball CLICK HERE

Chelsea were without a few big players but you would never have guessed in their away game at Middlesbrough, leading 1-0 at half time thanks to a first half goal Kalou strike they came out in the 2nd half and completely blew their opponents away with 4 more unanswered goals to leave the Riverside stadium 5-0 victors and leave the home supporters wishing they had stayed at home.

Manchester United were also in the mood for goals in their home game with West Brom, after a goalless 1st half they too came out and scored Four 2nd half goals with Rooney once again chief tormentor scoring once and grabbing an assist in Man-Utd’s easy 4-0 romp.

Liverpool and Arsenal both had to do it the hard way coming back from being behind to both Wigan and Everton respectively, Liverpool had Kuyt to thank with his double giving them a 3-2 home win and Arsenal left it late before seeing off Everton 3-1 at home.

All the games involving Aston Villa v Portsmouth, Bolton v Blackburn and Fulham’s home game with Sunderland all ended in boring 0-0 draws but after all the other goals elsewhere it sorted of evened itself out.

The game at Villa was marred by controversy though when the assistant referee was hit on the head by a object thrown from the crowd and will be fully investigated by the FA so expect a big fine winging it’s way to Villa park in the not too distant future.
