This weekend was goals galore for the top teams in the Premiership with all the big 4 winning their games but Chelsea and Manchester United really hit top form to send out a message to all their rivals that they mean business.

Chelsea were without a few big players but you would never have guessed in their away game at Middlesbrough, leading 1-0 at half time thanks to a first half goal Kalou strike they came out in the 2nd half and completely blew their opponents away with 4 more unanswered goals to leave the Riverside stadium 5-0 victors and leave the home supporters wishing they had stayed at home.

Manchester United were also in the mood for goals in their home game with West Brom, after a goalless 1st half they too came out and scored Four 2nd half goals with Rooney once again chief tormentor scoring once and grabbing an assist in Man-Utd’s easy 4-0 romp.

Liverpool and Arsenal both had to do it the hard way coming back from being behind to both Wigan and Everton respectively, Liverpool had Kuyt to thank with his double giving them a 3-2 home win and Arsenal left it late before seeing off Everton 3-1 at home.

All the games involving Aston Villa v Portsmouth, Bolton v Blackburn and Fulham’s home game with Sunderland all ended in boring 0-0 draws but after all the other goals elsewhere it sorted of evened itself out.

The game at Villa was marred by controversy though when the assistant referee was hit on the head by a object thrown from the crowd and will be fully investigated by the FA so expect a big fine winging it’s way to Villa park in the not too distant future.
